A Rose By Any Other Name- what does it matter…
My nature is to spread joy regardless
I continue to do just that, time endless
The gardener lovingly planted me with a plan
Seeding me in fertile womb to sprout with élan
I thrived on nature, nurture, nourishment, love
Overfed, underfed, parched flourishing all, above
I sprouted shoots, limbs, branches and skin
With senses keening, precious fluids coursing within
Ready to emerge from my cocoon a bud, a newborn
Glowing delicate sepia tinted mien, worldliness shorn
The naughty breeze sang greetings, a new mother lullaby
I blossomed under love showered by bee, kith, kin n ally
Inclement weather, forces, natural and manmade, challenged
I faced them with scent and joy ever wafting, easily managed
Time, worldliness, destiny ran their course giving way to death
Lifelong spreading joy n happiness I fell in throes of final breath
I was used as mulch and spread and mixed in the earth
Ashes to ashes dust to dust is inevitable before rebirth
My nature is to spread joy regardless
I continue to do just that, time endless
And the cycle of life and tree of life blooms over n over……
A bit of fragrance always clings to the hand that gives you roses.
Proverbs
Truths and roses have thorns about them.
Henry David Thoreau, American, Author Quotes
At every step the child should be allowed to meet the real experience
of life; the thorns should never be plucked from his roses.
Ellen Key, Swedish, Writer Quotes
As you walk down the fairway of life you must smell the roses, for you
only get to play one round.
Ben Hogan, American, Athlete Quotes
