Liberating Soul

Give us back our shattered peace of mind
Return skeins of joy, untangle, help unwind
Hearts are battered by strident cries maligned
Shower benediction of peace, everyone rebind

Pygmy minds perpetrate holocausts in ignorance
Forget that at birth all same, in insurgent nascence
Blood same color and content, spilled in abundance
Callously, lost in corridors of deadened conscience

We have been taught that as you sow, so you shall reap
Childhood lessons blown by scorching winds, lie in dust heap
Return sanity, clear all visions, as life is very precious, not cheap
Straw by straw nests, nations are built, destroy not in one fell sweep

Welling eyes, breaking hearts, vacant arms, plead and cry in unison
Lord let sanity return, smite hate and strife, showering benediction
We are all your children and your benign doorbell is our only talisman
Man killing man is like a jungle creature devouring its birthed creation

Save them from self, clearing visions warped by cataracts of pumped up hate
You are the giver, the taker only,  yet we see aping of you by happenings of late
Chop down all deadwood of greed, corruption and self aggrandizements’ spate
Reconvert us to our old innocent selves that you first dispatched, all else abate
Give us back our shattered peace of mind
Return skeins of joy, untangle,  help unwind
Hearts are battered by strident cries maligned
Shower benediction of peace, everyone rebind

I hate this wretched willow soul of mine, patiently enduring, plaited or twisted by other hands .-Karin Boye Swedish, Poet
The weakness of a soul is proportionate to the number of truths that must be kept from it.
Eric Hoffer American, Writer
Religious suffering is at once the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the sentiment of the heartless world, as it is the soul of soulless condition. It is the opium of the people.
John Desmond Bernal Irish, Scientist

Whatever man uses without the fear of God, whatever he applies to the mere gratifying of his flesh, cannot fail to operate as a poison to the soul, however pleasant and salutary it may appear to be to the body .-Johann Arndt German, Theologian

As for what concerns our relations with our fellow men, the anguish in our neighbor’s soul must break all precept. All that we do is a means to an end, but love is an end in itself, because God is love. - Edith Stein German, Saint
Nothing can cure the soul but the senses, just as nothing can cure the senses but the soul.
Oscar Wilde Irish, Dramatist

FLAME

Enflame me with your passion
Cool me in your unique fashion
Let’s ride the crest of love tide high
Forgetting present with nary a sigh!!!

Hide me in your warming embrace
Away from reality’s fall from grace
My world is no longer a happy place
Let’s go find comfort’s soothing trace!!

Light me up like a church wish candle
Send forth our prayers to the Lord aerial
Seek blessings to fill up our mantle
Rescue us from us as life turns brutal

Reality has now worn a death mask
To regain sanity is a Herculean task
In past smugness we can no longer bask
Seeking order from chaos is all we ask!!

There are flames and there are flames
One flame’s forked tongue burns all in path
One flame managed and banked gives warmth
Let’s enflame n enlighten on basis- warpath

I am tired of searing my soul with harsh reality
Hearing unpalatable truths sounding like a banshee
Sing me an anthem of peace, bonhomie, live n let live
We have a short time on earth to make our marks n give

Enflame me with your passion
Cool me in your unique fashion
Let’s ride the crest of love tide high
Forgetting present with nary a sigh!!!

Seared singed and hurt, I cower in fear
Life’s gone awry and totally out of gear
Let’s find an even keel to drive and steer
Stamping out all flames that burn and sear

Hide me in your warming embrace
Away from reality’s fall from grace
My world is no longer a happy place
Let’s go find comfort’s soothing trace!!

It does no harm just once in a while to acknowledge that the whole country
isn’t in flames, that there are people in the country besides politicians,
entertainers, and criminals. - Charles Kuralt

Young love is a flame; very pretty, often very hot and fierce, but still only
light and flickering. The love of the older and disciplined heart is as coals,
deep burning, unquenchable.- Henry Ward Beecher (1813 - 1887)

Wit is brushwood; judgment timber; the one gives the greatest flame, and the other
yields the most durable heat; and both meeting make the best fire. - Overlung
Education is not to reform students or amuse them or to make them expert technicians.
It is to unsettle their minds, widen their horizons, inflame their intellects, teach
them to think straight, if possible.- Robert M. Hutchins

Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your
life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility
into flames of achievement. - Foster C. McClellan
A great flame follows a little spark.
Dante Alighieri (1265 - 1321), The Divine Comedy

It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents–except at occasional
intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets
rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps
 that struggled against the darkness.
Edward Bulwer-Lytton (1803 - 1873), Paul Clifford (1830)

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to
themselves, “You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I’m just
not close enough to get the job done.”
George Carlin (1937 - 2008)

Dream Weaver - Two

Call me not a dream robber
Call me not a dream stabber
Call me not a dream deflator
Call me not a dream merchant

I am a Dream Weaver

I gather strings of worries
I sense all secret longings
I collect all lovers’ pangs
I catch floating laments

I am a Dream Weaver

I drink all poisons of hate
I feed on societal ills’ spate
I reel in corruption that frustrates
I imbibe oppressions on my palate

I am a Dream Weaver

Give me your tired apathy
Your shattered aspirations
Your big small vexations
Your virtual real dungeons

I am a Dream Weaver

I will then convert this bitter gall
Into ambrosia, filling, topping a highball
Woven with all strings gathered in fall
Offering this manna to one and all

After all- I am your own personal Dream Weaver!!

No dreamer is ever to small; no dream is ever to big.-Source Unknown

Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength,

My Love

It was so hard to contain it
I could hold back no more
It was brimming and spilling
I wanted to fling myself on him
Hug him close and never let go
All pent up emotions came to the fore
He was blind to my love’s outpourings
Blissfully he continued to have forty winks
Gently snoring and smiling in his sleep
Making me impatient and deprived
I wanted to feel his throbbing pulse
And his beating heart close to mine
Finally my love broke loose
I gathered him tight in my arms
Held him close and assuaged
My overflowing maternal love

My Lord looked on morose
His accusing eyes calling me traitor
I beseeched, Lord I have not thee forsaken
You are my brother, am just enjoying your
Boon and blessings that you have
Sent my way, giving me immense joy
Endearments gush from me to my baby
On gift bestowed by thee in your infinite wisdom
You reside in my every pore, in every breath
My every inhale every exhale calls YOU
Only you, my baby is a mere extension
Of me and I know all is transient, short lived
Yet I relish him so, as he has given meaning
To my meaningless roving self as now
I have something to live for and YOU are
Already there for me to die for again and again

My boyfriend used to ask his mother,” How can I find the right women for me?  And she would
answer, don’t worry about finding the right women -concentrate on becoming the right man.

When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice,
once for herself and once for her child. -Sophia Loren ,Italian, Actress

When your mother asks, “Do you want a piece of advice?” it is a mere formality. It doesn’t matter if you
answer yes or no. You’re going to get it anyway. -Erma Bombeck, American, Journalist

Ablution to Absolution

Creeping silently hissing, they sidled inside
Insidiously got comfortable during high tide
Evicting impossible, forced to wait for riptide
…angry thoughts, emotional upheavals…

Suffering implied transgressions of the bully
I rode the cresting waves of my anger unruly
Precariously holding out for riptide of sanity, barely
…angry thoughts, emotional upheavals…

Piling recrimination coals, slights perpetrated, real unreal
Easing bruised ego and knuckle,  ah!  revenge is so sweet
Better senses rush in, cooling emotional furor corroding
…steam escaping, bubble bursting…

true to self and form, anger dissipating, rapidly evaporating
forgiving  forgetting winning at last, overtaking all, settling
peace of mind regained, calm waters of mind flow serenely
…ablution to absolution…
