Kinship
I am Kinship
I need not be at the mercy of
What flows in the human veins
I can be found and forged regardless
All I need is a spark of recognition
Common grounds abound if sought
And a kinship can be formed therewith
A jest of fate can lend a helping hand
A missed opportunity can be a blessing
I am not a slave to age, race or creed
Nor lands, mountains, falls and rivers
I can happen in a split second and the ties
Can last and survive the march of time
I am more precious than a diamond and
Can be both a rarity or a common sight!
I am Kinship that needs no blood relations
I can be forged n happen in the blink of an eye!
Not till the fire is dying in the grate, Look we for any kinship with the stars. Oh, wisdom never comes when it is gold, And the great price we paid for it full worth: We have it only when we are half earth. Little avails that coinage to the old!
Meredith, George
Periwinkle
Periwinkle skies stretching endlessly
Boast splashes of white hither n thither
The sun shines bright and golden
Making the garden flowers take notice
Side walkers sporting colorful threads
Enjoy this lovely day, longtime in coming
My heart jumps up and I want to sing
Gather daisies that are there for the having
Periwinkle waters shimmer in waves of gold
Letting boats ride over it fast n furious
Periwinkle skies stretching endlessly
Herald summer longtime in coming
Now cold winter goes into hibernation
Finally, neither mourned nor missed!
Apathy
Apathy like a returning bug
Tends to cloud my bonhomie
Banishing it is kind of hard
Its insidiousness is overwhelming
Euphoria slinks out with its tail
Drooping between its legs
Clawing out of this abyss
I take hold of myself
Without resorting to props
Friendly ears n shoulders,
Be gone, I have to outgrow you
And swat this menace myself
There can be no transforming of darkness into light and of apathy into movement without emotion.
Carl Jung
Swiss psychologist (1875 - 1961)
