Loss
Today my tears stabbed me in the back
Broke tether and escaped from captivity
Love n togetherness, togetherness n love
Go hand in hand, two hearts beat as one
One heart stops, other heart beating in tandem
Falters, yet grief stricken valiantly carries on
Loss of loved one is equal to both in every respect
To children unquestionably, to others yet, not so
A woman from wife transitions to a widow
Object of pity, fodder for society to prey upon
Friends, neighbors, kith n kin, all known folks
Overnight become predators and exploiters
A man on the other hand, even though grief stricken
Carries on, attracting full support of each n everyone
In west, a woman becoming a widow is a mishap
Not a calamity, then why is it not the same in east
Eastern women prey upon women not sparing their own
Money is a great equalizer yet there is still this disparity
Society conscienceless, touts emancipation from rooftops, yet
Its true colors are revealed when tragedy knocks at its doorstep
Today my tears stabbed me in the back
Broke tether and escaped from captivity
A heartbroken widow
Bewildered, asks why???

Can I see another’s woe, and not be in sorrow too? Can I see another’s grief, and not seek for kind relief?
William Blake English, Artist Quotes
Essence of Living
Savoring every piece every second
Moment to moment, iota to iota
Making every grain of time count
Stand for something truly precious
Basking in the warmth of near and dear
Treasuring and soaking in their love
Minding neither admonishments nor
Imparted advice, emanating out of care
Appreciating nature stretched out
On a chaise long, reveling in reemergence
Of benign sun, illuminating and caressing
All that it touches, enthusing and energizing
Learning lessons from the industrious
Squirrel, lazing lizard, chirruping bird
Fluttering butterfly and pearly strings of
Raindrops, sparkling on overhead wires
Relishing every occasion, each holiday
With gusto and enthusiasm as the air
Crackles with excitement and electricity
And holiday cheer momentarily joins all
Keeping the right frame of mind always as
Life is a tight ropewalk after all and when
Hard times befall, overcoming and hanging on
Will be easier, knowing it has but a short life span
Living carefully as though tending water of life
Cupped in both palms of hands without spilling
Vigilant in body and mind to keep the soul both
Vibrant and lit up like a beacon of light within
Savoring every piece every second
Moment to moment, iota to iota
Making every grain of time count and
Stand for something truly precious
Living Life Tomorrow’s fate, though thou be wise, Thou canst not tell nor yet surmise;
Pass, therefore, not today in vain, For it will never come again.
Omar Khayyam Author Nationalities, Poet Quotes
To be alive, to be able to see, to walk, to have houses, music, paintings - it’s all a miracle.
I have adopted the technique of living life miracle to miracle.
Arthur Rubinstein American, Musician Quotes
I like someone who embraces life; who wants to be on a long journey but has no particular plan
or destination in mind. An adventurous man, open to the concept of living life in the moment.
Jill Hennessy Canadian, Actress Quotes
The acceptance of death gives you more of a stake in life, in living life happily,
as it should be lived. Living for the moment.
Sting British, Musician Quotes
Fate
Fate, Fado, Fortune, Kismet
What is in a term or a name,
The end result is your game
With finality, they bid adieus in churches, at the gate
Weeping happily, they declare honey this is your fate
Now always love and obey him as he is your soul mate
Lifelong conditioning precluded questions or stalemate
Love or arranged marriage, when two bodies reside as one
A tug of war ensues before mutual respect n dues are won
To make this bond work requires ingenuity and love, a ton
Hustle bustle harried lives strain n fray new bonds woven
Make or break, your fates are in the palms of your own hands
Lines aside, deft maneuvering of mind’s masterstroke wands
Magically resolves tangled balls of misunderstandings spawned
Salvaging n honoring vows made in good faith with a new dawn
On the other hand, if banked simmering fires of daily tiffs are stroked
Bonfires of eternal vows’ cinders are easily scattered and revoked
Relationships are broken, offspring like bones of contention are yoked
Tug of war between warring spouses make all unhappy as love chokes
Happy folks are divorce lawyers, as they rub their hands in glee
If you are wise, you will attempt to resolve and give in, not flee
Practical horse sense, love of children demand rethinking decree
It is easy to break vows, kill love but much wiser to reclaim it sagely
Make or break fate, fado or kismet
Fate is in no ones hands but your own’
The end result is the real game
Fate, fortuna, fado, kismet-What’s in a name

Human reason needs only to will more strongly than fate, and she is fate.
Thomas Mann German, Writer Quotes
Fate, is an excuse for why we end up where we do! Our ‘Actions’ predetermine our Destiny, our ‘Reactions’ seal that fate!
Carl Stoynoff ,poet/philosopher
Anyone who cannot come to terms with his life while he is alive needs one hand to ward off a little his despair over his fate… but with his other hand he can note down what he sees among the ruins.
Franz Kafka Austrian, Poet Quotes
Dreams
Sweet lullabies sung me to sleep
Dream dreamy dreams baby, do not weep
I believed, dreamt, slept without further peep
Childhood threshold was crossed over, asleep
Onset of teens wrought havoc on body and mind
Making me reclusive, dreaming dreams unkind
Parental guidance and rebukes always declined
Dreams became scary and hairy and maligned
Youth brought its own particular set of built in woes
Onset of soon becoming an adult, coming on tipsy toes
Topsy turvy was head and body then a mass of cravings
Fitting in, failing, flailing to save dreams from caving
Lofty dreams like castles in the air, heralding, enticing
Parents aspirations clashing often with great reckonings
Dreams unrealized, nevertheless crystallized into hard reality
Defying well meaning advice to chase dreams beckoning
All dreams are manifestations
Process of living and growing
Morphing from egg- larva- pupa
Butterfly of dreams blooms finally
Realized at last, a fait accompli
And
Everytime dreams become
Magnificent obsessions
A genius is born
Saddle your dreams before you ride them.
Mary Webb English, Novelist Quotes
Take what you can from your dreams, make them as real as anything.
Dave Matthews South African, Musician Quotes
When the legends die, the dreams end; there is no more greatness.
Tecumseh American, Leader Quotes
Dreams are the seeds of change. Nothing ever grows without a seed, and nothing ever changes without a dream.
Debby Boone American, Actress Quotes
Dreams are often most profound when they seem the most crazy.
Sigmund Freud Austrian, Psychologist Quotes
It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old, they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams.
Gabriel Garcia Marquez Colombian, Novelist Quotes
Retrospection- Chain of thoughts
Dregs
Like instilled childhood learning
Like distilled rarefied spirits
Like curling breath on a cold day
Tangible yet intangible
Beauty
Like a moth hovering bravely over a flame
Like a bee buzzing gleefully over a cache of pollen
Like a butterfly lending color prancing in summer
Transient
Excitement
Like lovers separating in a huff
Like an expensive cigar immolating
Like a self deprecating genius cogitating
Short span
Happiness
Like crackle of electricity in air during holidays
Like pleasure of brand new clothes the first time
Like suckling a newborn to breast in maternal love
Mementos
Sacrifice
A soldier’s first tour of duty
A mother’s proud goodbye kiss
A father’s parting words in psuedo bliss
Family vignette
All tangible, intangible, transient, real, dusty dregs of life spent and enjoyed
Spilled over in retrospection…..
