The gardener
The barren earth
Lifeless n arid
Full of delta-like
Veins n crevices
Dry red and molten
Begged for succor
A gardener came along
Took charge and
Tended it
Showering
Loving care
Life-giving water
And nutrients.
Suddenly the earth came to life
Under his benign presence
Little creatures peeped out
Of the numerous burrows
Scurrying all over.
Fledgling saplings
Raised their heads
Breaking loose
From out of the earth
Growing in abundance
A burst of delicate
Green leaves sprouting
On tender stems
In response to the wave
Of the magic wand
Of the gardener!
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
Marcel Proust
